How BL Guide works: sources, checking and corrections

Every fact on BL Guide comes from Deep Worlds itself, with the date it was said, and anything the studio has not confirmed is labelled as unknown rather than guessed. The site is written and checked by one person, a player following the game, and it is not affiliated with Deep Worlds SA.

Beautiful Light is not out. Nothing on this site has been verified in a released game, which makes it easy to get wrong, so this page says exactly how the pages are built and what they are worth.

Who writes this

One person, a player following Beautiful Light since its announcement, publishing as BL Guide. This is a fan site, not a studio outlet: nobody here has played a build that the public has not seen, and nobody has early access to information. When a page says something is confirmed, it means a Deep Worlds source said it publicly, not that we tested it.

Questions, corrections and takedown requests: contact.blguide@gmail.com. The publisher details are on the legal notice.

Which sources count

In this order, and never below the line:

  • Deep Worlds' Steam news feed and store page, the most complete public record and readable without an account.
  • Official videos: the trailers on the studio's channel, and the dev update videos it publishes with Psychoghost.
  • Posts by Deep Worlds staff in the official Discord, in the read-only #leaks-wip and #news channels. Those are cited with the channel, the author and the date, and the public invite is discord.gg/project-bl.
  • Interviews given by the studio, cited with the outlet, the date and a timestamp.

What never becomes a fact here: another site's speculation, a leak nobody at the studio has confirmed, a Reddit comment, or a figure that cannot be traced back to one of the sources above. No map name, price, date or monster name is invented to fill a gap.

How a page gets checked

  • Every number carries its source and its date. A statement from 2023 is published as a 2023 statement, with the caveat that it may no longer hold, never as a current fact.
  • Each page shows when it was last checked. That date moves only when the facts have actually been re-read at the source. It is not bumped to look fresh.
  • What is unknown is written down as unknown. Every pillar page carries a section listing what Deep Worlds has not said, and the home page carries the same thing as a block of redactions. A short honest list beats a long paragraph of guesses.
  • Nothing is published from a future-dated draft. Articles scheduled ahead of time are held back by the build itself until their day.
  • Automated checks run before every deployment: broken internal links and malformed page metadata stop the publication rather than reaching the site.

How AI is used, and how it is not

The site is built with AI assistance: drafting, code, image processing and the routine that watches for new announcements. That is worth stating plainly, because it changes what you should expect.

What does not change: no fact reaches a page without a human reading the original source. The watch routine reports what it found and never publishes on its own. When a model drafts a paragraph, the figures in it are checked against the Steam post, the video or the Discord message before the page ships, and anything that cannot be traced is cut rather than softened.

Images and attribution

Screenshots come from Deep Worlds' official Steam page, its press kit, its Steam posts and staff posts in the official Discord, used for community coverage and credited in the footer of every page. Video clips are short silent extracts from material the studio published. Key art carrying the official logo is never used as an article header, so this site cannot be mistaken for an official one, and the BL Guide mark is never stamped on Deep Worlds' images.

Beautiful Light, its screenshots and all related assets are the property of Deep Worlds SA.

Getting something corrected

If a page is wrong, write to contact.blguide@gmail.com with the page and the source that contradicts it. Corrections are made the same day they are confirmed, and the "last checked" date moves with them. A fact that turns out to have been reported too early is removed, not quietly reworded.
