Beautiful Light platforms: PC at launch, and what Deep Worlds said about consoles
Beautiful Light launches on PC only, through Steam and the Epic Games Store. PS5 and Xbox Series X were called a possibility back in April 2023 and have never been dated since.

Beautiful Light is a PC game at Early Access, and nothing else has been dated. Here is what the store pages and Deep Worlds' own statements say, and what they do not.
| PC (Windows) | Yes, the only platform listed |
|---|---|
| Stores | Steam and the Epic Games Store, both "coming soon" for December 2026 |
| macOS | Not listed |
| Linux | Not listed |
| PS5, Xbox Series X and S | Not announced, called a possibility in April 2023 |
| Nintendo Switch | Never mentioned |
| Steam Deck | No compatibility rating on the store page |
| Controller support | Not listed among the Steam features |
| Price | Not shown on either store |
PC first, and only PC
Both store listings describe a Windows game. The Steam page carries Windows requirements and no macOS or Linux ones, and its feature list is limited to multiplayer, PvP, online PvP and Family Sharing. So: no Mac version, no native Linux version, no cloud version announced.
Everything Deep Worlds publishes, from dev updates to playtest invitations, goes through Steam and its Discord, and the playtests have always been PC builds.
Consoles: one sentence, three years old
The only official word on consoles is in Deep Worlds' FAQ, published on Steam on 21 April 2023:
- The game will release on PC (Steam).
- If it does well, the studio is considering PS5 and Xbox Series X.
- No date, and the studio framed it as an attractive prospect rather than a plan, noting that consoles are about half of its potential market.
Nothing since has updated that. Read it as an intention from 2023, not a commitment. A small studio shipping an Early Access game on PC in December 2026 has a long road before a console version, and nothing in the 2026 posts mentions one.
Steam Deck and controllers
The Steam page shows no Deck compatibility rating (Verified, Playable or Unsupported), which is normal for a game that has not released, and no controller support in its feature list. The playtests have been played with mouse and keyboard.
That does not mean the Deck is ruled out. It means nothing has been tested or promised publicly. The system requirements give a useful hint: the minimum asks for a GTX 1070 and an SSD, which is well above what a Deck delivers.
What you need on PC
The short version, from the store page: an Intel i5 8600K, 16 GB of RAM, a GTX 1070 and 60 GB of SSD space at minimum, a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3060 recommended. Deep Worlds marks both as temporary. The full tables, and the FPS figures the studio has published in 2026, are on the system requirements page.
What is still unknown
- Whether a console version is ever made, and on which machines
- Whether controllers are supported on PC at Early Access
- How it runs on a Steam Deck
- The price, on either store
For the launch window itself, see the release date page.
