Beautiful Light's growing bestiary: the Psy anomaly, Reaver variants and the Ravageur
Beyond the Wendigo, Deep Worlds showed a first Psy anomaly, Crawler, Creep and Elite Reavers, and a creature it calls the Ravageur.

Deep Worlds' Steam posts name a handful of anomalies: the Juggernaut, the Sheitan, the Reaver and the Big Boy. The studio's Discord goes much further. Between March and June 2026, its team shared renders, animations and in-game shots of creatures that have never appeared on Steam. Here is the full set.
The first "Psy" anomaly
On 10 March 2026, Deep Worlds' Head Staff Matavatar posted what he called the first "Psy" anomaly reveal: a final render next to the original concept sketches.

The creature is tall and gaunt, with long clawed arms and a head that is mostly mouth. Deep Worlds did not explain what "Psy" means in play. Our reading is that it points to a family of anomalies with psychic effects, but the studio has not said so, nor whether this anomaly will be controlled by players or by the game.
The Reaver gets variants
The Reaver is one of the AI anomalies Deep Worlds already names on Steam. In 2026 it split into several versions:
- 24 March 2026: the Creep. An animation montage of the Reaver Creep variant, with its scream, idle, chase and attack animations.
- 9 April 2026: the Crawler and the Creep together, in a screenshot by the team's 3D artist.
- 15 June 2026: the Elite. A visual effects update for an upcoming Reaver Elite, which now spawns with a tentacle system. It was shared by a new VFX artist who had just joined Deep Worlds.

The Ravageur
On 14 April 2026, a screenshot of a hulking creature with a swollen, ribbed body, lurking beside a wooden shed, was posted under the name Ravageur. That is all Deep Worlds said. "Ravageur" is the French word for ravager, and the studio has not given an English name.

Dogs in the fog
On 28 March 2026, Aherys shared a short clip titled "Dog + Fog": a foggy forest and railway line, and the screen washing red as something attacks. Dogs have been planned since at least January 2026, when Deep Worlds said they would hunt like a wolf pack.
How the monsters get their voices
On 20 April 2026, Matavatar asked the studio's anomaly sound designer how the creature sounds are made. The answer, in short:
- The base is exotic animal sounds from sound libraries, reshaped with pitch changes, distortion and spectral pitch shifting until they sound like a monster.
- Layers give each creature a personality, mostly recorded props, balanced so the sound feels full.
- Sometimes it is his own voice, split into layers: a low distorted part, a heavily processed screech in the middle, and a textured high part.
- Synthesizers he builds himself add stranger layers on top.
- The kit: a Zoom H5 recorder for props and textures, and an Audio-Technica AT4040 condenser microphone for voices.
The example he shared was the scream of the Juggernaut, which he described as a playable anomaly.
What is still unknown
- Which of these creatures make the Early Access build, which ships with four AI anomalies and one playable anomaly
- What the Psy anomaly does, and whether "Psy" is a category
- Whether the Ravageur is a new anomaly or another name for one already known
- How the Reaver variants differ in play
Every anomaly Deep Worlds has named, with its role, is in the anomalies guide.
