How much will Beautiful Light cost? Everything Deep Worlds has said about price

The only price Deep Worlds has published dates from April 2023: 39.99 euros for the Standard Edition and 69.99 euros for a Supporter Edition. What those figures covered, and why they may not be the launch price.

Short answer: neither Steam nor the Epic Games Store lists a price yet. The only official figures come from a Deep Worlds FAQ published on Steam in April 2023, more than three years before the planned Early Access launch.

Prices will vary by region

Deep Worlds said the price would be localized, meaning it changes depending on where you live, to fit different economic situations. The 39.99 euro figure is the French reference, not a worldwide price.

Why those figures may not hold

Treat these numbers as the studio's intention in 2023, not as the launch price. Three things have changed since:

  • The timeline. The same FAQ planned a demo for mid 2025 and an open Early Access at the end of 2025. The store pages now list December 2026.
  • The scope. In 2023 the team was 12 people. The project has since added a full backend and matchmaking, persistent stash and inventory, new AI anomalies and a second map in production.
  • The storefronts. The game is now listed on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and neither shows a price.

None of that means the price will go up. It means nobody outside Deep Worlds knows yet, and any "confirmed" price quoted elsewhere should be checked against the two store pages.

Other plans from the same 2023 FAQ

The April 2023 post answered a few more questions that still come up. They are just as dated, so read them the same way:

  • Languages. Fifteen were listed: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Japanese, Korean, and simplified and traditional Chinese. Deep Worlds said the list could change based on where the game is wishlisted.
  • Consoles. The game releases on PC. Deep Worlds said it was considering PS5 and Xbox Series X if the game did well, noting consoles are about half of its potential market, but gave no date. No console version has been announced since.
  • Cheaters. The studio did not promise to solve cheating, but said it would put a substantial budget into fighting it if it became a big problem.

When will we know the real price?

Store prices usually appear on the Steam page ahead of an Early Access launch. When Beautiful Light gets one, it goes on the release date page first, next to the launch window. You can also check whether your PC is ready on the system requirements page.
